Map data

Country boundaries are derived from Natural Earth, which is in the public domain, via the world-atlas package. Boundaries are shown for navigation only and do not represent any position on the status of disputed territories.

Satellite imagery

Satellite view uses NASA's Blue Marble imagery, which is in the public domain. It is bundled with the app rather than fetched, which is what makes it free and available offline.

Reference data

Country facts are built from world-countries and countries-list, with population figures from the World Bank and climate and geocoding data from Open-Meteo. Exchange rates come from Frankfurter. All are free to use and none requires an account.

Libraries

Travelogue is built with React, React Native and Expo. Every library below ships inside the app, and every one of them is used under the MIT licence.

EXPO MODULES expo-blur, expo-constants, expo-document-picker, expo-file-system, expo-font, expo-haptics, expo-image, expo-image-picker, expo-linking, expo-localization, expo-location, expo-sharing and expo-status-bar.

EVERYTHING ELSE @react-native-async-storage/async-storage, react-native-gesture-handler, react-native-reanimated, react-native-worklets, react-native-safe-area-context, react-native-screens, react-native-svg, zustand and date-fns.

Some of what you see is not code but data, prepared before the app was built and baked into it. The tools that shaped it — d3-geo, topojson-client and world-atlas — are used under the ISC licence, and world-countries, countries-list and i18n-iso-countries under the MIT licence. Where that data came from is listed under Data sources on the About screen, with the attribution each source asks for.

Icons

Interface icons are from Ionicons, used under the MIT licence.
